Samsung has recently introduced its latest Galaxy Watch 8. It went on sale on July 9, 2025, and will be available for purchase from July 25, 2025. The Galaxy Watch 8, accompanied by the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic and the new Galaxy Watch Ultra, marks the era of the big transformation of the design, performance, and health features of the device.
New Look, Better Feel
The Galaxy Watch 8 is the thinnest and lightest timepiece from Samsung. The Watch 8, the standard model, is designed with a “cushion design” and has a “dynamic lug system” for the bands. This means that the band sits closer to your wrist, so it is more comfortable and the health sensors work more efficiently. The Watch 8 Classic reintroduces the popular spinning ring (physical rotating bezel) and looks more rugged like the Galaxy Watch Ultra.
Both of them have a screen with a super-brightness of up to 3000 nits. This makes them visible even under the very bright sun. The screens are AMOLED; thus, colours are bright and details are clear.
Faster Performance, Smarter Features
Deep inside, the Galaxy Watch 8 is equipped with a brand-new, powerful 3 nm Exynos W1000 5-core chip. This means that the watch is very fast and the battery lasts longer. The watches operate on One UI 8.0 Watch, which is Samsung’s user-friendly software based on Wear OS 6. This new software has an easier layout, with a “Now Bar” for quick switching between apps and “Multi-Info Tiles” to get important info at a glance.
The other big feature is Google’s Gemini AI that comes as standard in the watch. Thus, you are able to talk to it in a more natural way and get more complicated tasks done. You can easily keep track of your running speed, turn on workouts, set timers, or compose messages simply by speaking to your watch.
Advanced Health Tracking
Samsung has incorporated various health improvements in the Galaxy Watch 8:
Antioxidant Index: Using your smartwatch for the first time, you are capable of non-invasively recording dermal carotenoid optically just by placing your thumb on the sensor for five seconds. It then provides you with a naked view of your body’s antioxidant supply and helps with general health parameters.
Vascular Load: This new function detects the load that your heartbeat has while resting. It shows you whether it is in a low or high range; thus, if you take care of your nutrition, it will reveal the heart’s trend to you over the period of time.
Better Sleep Tracking with Bedtime Guidance: Besides sleep monitoring being largely upgraded, the novel apparatus dubbed Bedtime Guidance not only analyses one’s circadian rhythm and level of fatigue for offering the most appropriate bedtime, but it is also perfectly synchronised with one’s smart home. Parameters such as heart rate, skin temperature, and smart home devices can be used for monitoring. Sleep apnoea detection is a feature of the Watch 8 that has been approved by the FDA.
AI-Powered Running Coach: Such a task is based on your fitness level; it is done via a 12-min run test, during which you strive to maintain the highest speed. Next, your personal trainer figures out a regimen and provides you the best live hints and motivation to reach your running goals.
Energy Score: This smart feature simplifies your energy level by presenting the one that comes from physical and mental parts.
These health additions are abundant and bring together basic functions such as heart rate monitoring, body composition analysis, and stress tracking to transform the Galaxy Watch 8 into a complete wellness companion.
Price and Where to Buy
The new Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 is open for pre-orders as we speak. On July 25, 2025, it will be available in shops. The 40mm Bluetooth variant goes for $349, the cheapest one. The 44 mm Bluetooth model is at $379. Phones with cellular (LTE) are still on sale if you want, but they will cost you a little more. The Galaxy Watch 8 Classic, which has a size of 46 mm, starts at $499 for the Bluetooth model and $549 for the LTE one.
